Dear Wallop:

For what it’s worth, I agree with you about the dustcloths. But I sincerely regret having ever unwittingly encouraged your brand of coarse familiarity. And may I suggest that you take yourself to the nearest dictionary—you can find one in any public library—and “put your finger” on the distinction between cynicism and irony. Think about it, Wallop.
